  • West Bengal Police on Monday registered a case and launched a probe into a bomb threat mail received by several schools in the state, including those in Kolkata and Siliguri.

According to police sources, the emails claiming that bombs are placed in the classrooms that will go off on Tuesday morning were received by several schools on Sunday.

“We are monitoring the situation and verifying the emails. The cyber cell is working on it. A case has been registered and we are probing the matte. Primarily, it seems like a prank, but the investigation is at an early stage, and nothing can be said now,” said a senior police officer.

According to police sources, the threat mail read: “This message is for everyone. There are bombs outside the classroom. The bombs will go off tomorrow morning when the children are at school.”

The message said that two “terrorists Ching and Dol” were behind it.
