  • Kolkata: A week before Cooch Behar goes to polls, Bengal leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari said at a party meeting on Friday that he would urge the EC police observer to see that Trinamool minister Udayan Guha did not come out on election day.

Addressing the meeting at Cooch Behar’s Natabari, Adhikari said: “The National Human Rights Commission had named 19 people in connection to the 2021 Bengal assembly post-poll violence. One of them is Anubrata Mondal. He is in jail. Another is Jyoti Priya Mallick. He is also in jail. Udayan Guha is among the other names.”

“As many as 4,500 BJP activists and supporters from the Rajbangshi, SC and minority communities had to leave their homes and take shelter in camps in Assam. You have to avenge the violence by pressing the lotus button,” Adhikari told BJP workers. tnn
