Kolkata: Five persons were injured in two separate bus accidents on Monday.
The first accident occurred at 12.40pm near New Alipore when a private bus hit cyclist Basudev Sapui (50). Passengers, Julie Paswan (41) and Priyanka Paik (19), were injured when the bus driver slammed on the brakes. All three were admitted to a nearby hospital.
In the second accident, a private bus hit a biker and his pillion rider at 2.10pm near Dalhousie.The biker, Prem Kumar Rai (39), a Picnic Garden resident and his pillion rider, Bikash Sharma (41), resident of Burrabazar, sustained injuries and were admitted to SSKM Hospital.
Cops arrested both the bus drivers and seized their vehicles.
