  • On the occasion of Ram Navami celebrations, the recently inaugurated Ram temple in Ayodhya witnessed a divine moment on Wednesday as the forehead of Lord Ram Lalla was illuminated with a 75 mm ‘Surya Tilak’ at 12 noon and lasted only for five minutes. A scientific technique involving mirrors and lenses was used where a 5.8-centimeter bright sunbeam directly fell on the deity’s forehead that looked extremely vibrant. A team of 10 Indian scientists were deployed at the temple premises to ensure success of the auspicious moment on the occasion of Ram Navami. Scientists from a leading government organisation, commissioned by the temple trust, worked tirelessly for months to design a highly sophisticated apparatus to make the event a remarkable achievement. The mechanism, termed as ‘Surya Tilak’ displayed extraordinary engineering marvel. According to Dr Pradeep Kumar Ramacharla, Scientist and Director at the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) in Roorkee, opto-mechanical system was used here to guarantee a seamless execution of the effective scientific technique.
