• Ensure Guha stays in booth, Nisith urges EC
    Times of India | 18 April 2024
  • Jalpaiguri: Junior Union minister and BJP Cooch Behar candidate Nisith Pramanik wrote to EC on Wednesday, urging the panel to ensure that TMC Dinhata MLA and state minister Udayan Guha didn’t leave his polling booth on April 19, when elections will be held, reports Pinak Priya Bhattacharya.

Pramanik referred to “regular attacks” on BJP workers and karyakartas allegedly led by Guha.

Guha said the BJP candidate was trying to “use” EC in a desperate bid to win the election. “Nisith has no connection with the people of Cooch Behar. He knows that he is going to lose. I have my feet on the ground and work for the people round the year. He wants to confine me on polling day,” Guha said.
