• Admiral Dinesh Tripathi becomes next Indian Navy Chief

  • Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi has been appointed by the government as the next chief of Indian Navya and he will assume his new office from April 30 this year. He currently serves as the Vice Chief of the Naval Staff and took on heavyweight responsibilities as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, of Western Naval Command earlier.Having an illustrious career spanning nearly 40 years, Tripathi was commissioned into the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy on July 01, 1985. Tripathi was also involved on frontline warships of the Navy as a Signal Communication Officer and Electronic Warfare Officer. He later became the Executive Officer and Principal Warfare Officer of the Guided Missile Destroyer INS Mumbai.Vice Admiral Tripathi is the recipient of the prestigious Robert E Bateman International Prize. He also won the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Nausena Medal for devotion to duty.
