Kolkata: Three persons died and six were injured in six accidents that occurred in the city between Sunday night and Monday morning. A pillion rider, Souvik Das (21), died and a biker Sk Altamas (22) was injured when a private bus plying on the Belur-Garia route hit their bike near Parama Island on EM Bypass around 7.05am on Monday.
A taxi reportedly mowed down a pedestrian on Mahatma Gandhi Road around 2.30am on Monday and sped away.The unidentified man (52)sustained multiple injuries. He passed away around 4.40am in hospital. A pedestrian, Manotosh Roy (68), died after being hit by a truck at the crossing of SP Mukherjee Road and Hazra Road around 11.10pm on Sunday.
A private car lost control and rammed into a culvert near Moyla Khal on EM Bypass around 4.15am on Monday injuring the car driver and its occupant. A helmetless biker sustained injury on the right leg after being hit by a private car on Basanti Highway around 9.25am on Monday. A biker and a pedestrian were injured when the bike hit the latter near Madan Street-Central Avenue crossing around 11.40pm on Sunday.
