KANTHI: An 18-year-old BJP activist was discovered deceased in a betel-leaf plantation located in Goramahal village, Mayna area of Purba Medinipur district West Bengal, according to police reports on Friday. The deceased, identified as Dinabondhu Middya, had been reported missing by his family since Wednesday.
Middya's mother, Henarani Middya, has accused TMC leaders of abducting and killing her son, and has demanded a CBI investigation into the matter.She stated, "My son was missing since Wednesday. We were being threatened by a few members of the TMC for quite some time. I am sure that my son was murdered by them."
The police have stated that they initiated a search for Middya after receiving a missing person's complaint, and were able to locate his body using his mobile tower location. The body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
However, TMC MLA Nasiruddin Ahamed has denied the allegations, stating, "The BJP has a tendency to blame TMC for everything. Even before knowing what led to the death, they are blaming us. This is ridiculous." The investigation into Middya's death is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
