Kolkata: Three school students drowned in a pond in Tiljala’s Achiprasad Shiv Mandir area around 4.30 pm on Friday. They had gone there to take a bath.
Despite not knowing how to swim, the trio looked for some respite in the heat. The boys — Mohammad Imtiyaz (14), Mohammad Haider Ali (15) and Mohammad Sahil (16) are all residents of Sapgachi First Lane and were close friends.
Efforts by locals could not save the teens and the local cops were informed immediately.Police and disaster management group rushed them to the CNMC hospital where they were pronounced dead.
