  • KOLKATA: A teenage boy was killed and two others injured in a bomb explosion in West Bengal's Hooghly district, on Monday according to police reports. The explosion took place near a pond in Pandua, where a group of boys were playing.

    Police said, the boy passed away at a hospital in Pandua, while the two other injured individuals were shifted to a medical facility in Chinsurah for advanced treatment.

    Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.

    Locket Chatterjee, the local BJP MP, alleged the involvement of the TMC in the explosion.

    She stated that it is the strategy of spreading fear by the ruling party of West Bengal before the campaign of senior TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee in Pandua.

    Banerjee, who holds the position of TMC national general secretary and is considered second-in-command within the party, is scheduled to address a public gathering later in the day.
