Kolkata: A 45-year-old man was arrested in Anandapur for allegedly raping a minor girl multiple times. The accused has been arrested and a case has been registered under Section 6 of Pocso Act along with rape. The incident was reported on Friday evening.
“We nabbed the accused based on the complaint by the girl’s mother,” said DC (East) Arish Bilal.“There was forceful repeated act of rape over a period of time on the pretext of providing a job. The atrocities took place at the residence of the accused,” he said.
The police have recorded the statement of the complainant and are checking if the girl can record her statement before the magistrate. tnn
