  • BHATPARA: There was a controversy at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign rally in Bhatpara on Sunday when the BJP's Barrackpore candidate Arjun Singh's son and Bhatpara MLA Pawan Singh gifted a portrait of Rabindranath Tagore to PM Narendra Modi. The portrait was upside down when he handed it over to Modi.

Singh senior and BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar, who were on dais, noticed it and rectified it, but Pawan's gaffe captured on TV cameras prompted Trinamool to attack BJP leaders over the alleged dishonour to Tagore.
