Kolkata: Birla High School students Debarshi Bhattacharjee and Aarav Kumar had done the school and the quizzing fraternity of West Bengal proud in Sept 2023, winning the Ultimate Sports Quiz conducted by Harsha Bhogle in Mumbai. After a number of elimination rounds the BHS team qualified for the finals battling it out with KPS (Kamal Vihar), Raipur, and Tagore International School (Delhi) in the finals.
The winners were felicitated on April 19 in the school with medals, certificates and a MacBook.A short programme was organised in school as the team from USQ had come down from Mumbai to do all the formalities.
The quizzing prowess of these students won the school a sum of Rs 35 lakh. The students got an all-expense paid trip to a dream sporting destination anywhere in the world. Aarav and Debarshi had chosen to witness the Cricket World Cup Finals held between India and Australia on Nov 19, 2023. The school also recognized the feat of the students by rewarding them with a cheque of Rs 31,000 each.
