Kolkata: In the fifth phase of polling in Bengal on Monday, over 57% of the booths have been marked critical. Officials said 650 companies of central forces will man booths, along with over 25,000 state policemen.
Most number of critical booths — 85% — are in Hooghly and Arambag.
In Hooghly (rural) police district, 181 companies will be deployed and in Chandernagore police commissionerate area, there will be deployment of 64 companies.
In Hooghly, out of 2,048 polling stations, 1,787 are ‘critical’. In Arambag, of the 2,078 polling stations, 1,770 are ‘critical’.
In Barrackpore, 67% of poll stations are ‘critical’. - Debashis Kona
