• Nephrocare to set up super speciality hosp in Madhyamgram

  • Kolkata: Healthcare company Nephrocare India, promoted by nephrologist Pratim Sengupta, is setting up a super speciality hospital in Madhyamgram.

    Nephrocare will invest Rs 36 crore in the new hospital — to be named Vivacity Multi Speciality Hospital — which will have 102 beds and departments like nephrology, neurology and cardiology. Sengupta said a major part of the investment would be raised through an IPO to be issued this month.Nephrocare will also be listed on NSE Emerge. Following the IPO, the promoter’s stake will go down to 60-62%. Incidentally, the company had earlier diluted 15% in a pre-IPO round, raising Rs 8 crore from marquee investors, including Deepak Parekh, Bharat Shah and Rajendra Agarwal.

    The company already has two units in Salt Lake and Chandernagore and will set up three more in Shyambazar, Alipurduar and Odisha’s Balasore. tnn
