Kolkata: Alipore zoo, on Sunday, lined up a slew of measures against the possible impact of Remal. From keeping animals in night shelter to water tanks full, it left no stone unturned. Apart from checking power connections and switch boxes, teams with equipment like power chain saw were kept ready for removal of broken branches or fallen trees.
“Batteries for search lights, walkie-talkies have been kept fully charged.POS machines are also ready to start issuing tickets in case there’s internet failure on Monday,” said a zoo official, adding that a team of veterinary officials is also in place to tackle any emergency. tnn
