• ER’s Sealdah division to operate special EMU trains for polling personnel

  • KOLKATA: In response to a request from the district magistrate of South 24 Parganas, the Sealdah division of eastern railway will operate special EMU trains to facilitate the movement of polling personnel following the completion of the Parliamentary General Election 2024.

    In addition to these special trains, the 34165 Budge Budge to Sealdah EMU local will depart from Budge Budge at 12:30 AM on June 2, instead of its usual time of 12:05 AM.

    All these special EMU trains will halt at all stations en route, including flag and halt stations, ensuring comprehensive coverage for polling personnel traveling back after election duties.

    These measures are expected to significantly aid the large number of polling staff in their post-election commute, ensuring a smoother and more efficient process.

    These special services are scheduled for the nights of June 1 and June 2, 2024, as follows:

    Namkhana to Sealdah Special: Departs from Namkhana at 11:45 PM on June 1, arriving at Sealdah at 2:20 AM on June 2.

    Diamond Harbour to Sealdah Special: Departs from Diamond Harbour at 1:00 AM on June 2, arriving at Sealdah at 2:27 AM.

    Canning to Sealdah Special: Departs from Canning at 1:00 AM on June 2, arriving at Sealdah at 2:05 AM.
