In Dumka in Jharkhand, Modi targeted the Opposition INDIA bloc, saying the Adivasi population, especially in the Santhal Pargana division of the state, was on the decline while that of the “ghuspetiyon” (infiltrators) was on the rise and posed a threat to “the lives and security of our daughters”.
Addressing a BJP election rally in Ashoknagar in North 24 Parganas district, the Prime Minister, referring to the May 22 Calcutta High Court order cancelling all OBC certificates issued in the state since 2010, said, “After the court order came, the CM opposed it. I was surprised to see the kind of statements she made. She questioned some of the judges and even questioned the judiciary. The way they are attacking judges is unprecedented. I would like to know whether the TMC will now let loose its goons on judges? The TMC is throttling the judiciary in Bengal. TMC doesn’t like those who expose its treachery and lies.”
Immediately after the ruling, Banerjee had said that she would “not accept” it and had alleged that it was done under the influence of the BJP.
“The TMC has betrayed the trust of the OBCs. The Calcutta HC has exposed this and had said that it was unconstitutional to give OBC certificates to 77 Muslim communities. The TMC has snatched the rights of lakhs of OBC youths… (these rights) were guaranteed by the Constitution, but given to ‘vote jihadis’ overnight. It has belittled the efforts of Babasaheb Ambedkar,” Modi said.
He said the Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangha are known across the world for their service and morality but the “TMC is openly threatening them, warning them from an open platform”.
“A TMC MLA had said that Hinduon ko Bhagirathi mein baha denge. Sadhus in Bengal humbly requested the TMC to rectify their mistake. But the TMC started abusing them. Monks of great institutions like Ramakrishna Mission, ISKCON, Bharat Sevashram Sangha have been humiliated. This is being done to appease their vote bank and further the ‘vote jihad’,” he said.
Modi held a roadshow in Kolkata from Shyambazar 5 Point Crossing to Swami Vivekananda’s ancestral house at Simla Street.
In Dumka, the Prime Minister said: “Jharkhand mein ek bada sankat ghuspetiyon ka ho gaya hai. Hamare ye Santal Pargana toh bahut zyada ghuspetiyon se joojh raha hai. Iska parinam kya ho raha hai ki kai illakon mein, Adivasiyon ki sankhya teji se kam ho rahi aur ghuspetiyon ki sankhya badh rahi hai. Adivasiyon ki zameen in ghuspet kabza kar rahe hain (Jharkhand is reeling from the problems of infiltrators, especially in Santhal Pargana. As a result, the Adivasi population is decreasing and that of the infiltrators is increasing. The land of Adivasis is being seized by these infiltrators),” he said.
“Friends, have our daughters come under the attack of these infiltrators or not? The lives and security of our daughters is under danger or not?” he asked the crowd.
He said he is being targeted as a person who creates a divide between Hindus and Muslims. “Inhe lagta hai ki Modi ki chhavi par keechad uchaalenge, Modi dar jayega. Are INDI wale, jitna kichad uchaaloge, kamal utna khil raha hai (INDIA bloc thinks that mudslinging will spoil Modi’s image, he will be afraid. I want to tell them the more you do it, the more the lotus shall bloom),” he said.
“Hamare desh mein ravivar ki chutti hoti hai, jab angrez raj karte thhay, isai samaj Sunday ko holiday maante thhay…ye chutti Hinduon se juda nahi… Ab unhone ek zile mein ravivar ki chutti mein taale laga diya, ab shukravar ko chutti hogi. Pehle Hinduon se jhagda, ab isaiyon se jhagda, ye kya chal raha hai (In our country, Sunday is an off day because when the British used to rule, the Christian community considered it a holiday… This is not linked to Hindus… Now, they (INDIA bloc) have declared Friday as a holiday instead of Sunday in one of the districts. First, they fight with Hindus, now with Christians. What is going on?),” he said, referring to the 2022 decision of a Friday weekly off in schools of Jamtara.
