  • KOLKATA: The nation would witness a "bada bhoochal (big shakeup)" over a six-month period starting June 4 (when Lok Sabha election results are out), PM Narendra Modi said in Mathurapur, South 24 Parganas, on Wednesday, at his last election rally in Bengal before the final phase of elections on Saturday, rep-orts Rohit Khanna. The post-election months, the PM explained, would see a "complete decimation of dyn-astic politics in India."

Modi said June 4 would mark a "turning point for India's entry into a golden era"."The dynastic parties will be scattered by themselves," he said, adding, "Their workers are already tired; they are witnessing which way India is moving."

"Dynastic politics in India has ruined five generations," the PM said. "People's dreams were shattered, their aspirations grounded," he added, contrasting the Congress era with NDA's governance in the last decade. "People were denied their basic rights.

There was poverty and homelessness. People did not even have access to drinking water. There wasn't even any discussion to change the situation," the PM insisted. "Smaller countries, which became independent almost at the same time (as India) have reached newer heights, while we lagged behind despite our talented, young workforce."

P M Narendra Modi also slammed Trinamool Congress’s opposition to centrally sponsored welfare projects.

“TMC has one weapon left in their arsenal. Their slogan is, ‘Eta hote debo na (we will not allow this to happen)’.” The PM repeated this phrase — “Eta hote debo na” — multiple times to stress Trinamool’s opposition to central schemes, such as the women’s helpline, Ujjwala connections or Ayushman Bharat. Linking TMC’s “non-performance” with “appeasement politics” to make a section of voters happy, Modi raised concern over “the changing demography at border-sharing states in Bengal”.

“The reason for their opposition to CAA was to appease their votebank,” the PM said, adding, “They called the Ram Mandir impure and insulted sadhus and religious institutions. Goons were let loose to attack maths,” he said. He was also critical of the state’s inclusion of Muslim communities under OBC-category reservation. “They included Muslims in that and Muslims got forged OBC certificates. When the court stopped that, they started spreading lies... Their only focus is tolabazi and cut money,” he said.

Modi said TMC and INDIA bloc were taking the country in a direction opposite to that of development. He alleged that more than Rs 20,000 crore was released from PM Matsya Sampada Yojana for Bengal’s fishermen, but state govt came in its way. “They did not even implement the acts to safeguard fishermen’s interests.

A Viksit Bengal is imperative for a Viksit Bharat. I guarantee you that I will put my best efforts into creating a Viksit Bengal,” the PM said.
