  • In his final election rally in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday criticised Mamata Banerjee government for not implementing the Central Government schemes in the state by saying “Eta hote debo na” (will not let this happen).

Addressing a public meeting at Kakdwip in support of BJP candidates from Mathurapur, Joynagar and Diamond Harbour constituencies, PM Modi said, “The TMC has only one weapon left which is ‘eta hote debo na’ (will not let this happen). Modi does development for the people, TMC says eta hote debo na. We set up a helpline number for women, but the TMC says eta hote debo na. We gave benefits of kisan credit cards to the fishermen community here, but the TMC government says ‘eta hote debo na’.”

Slamming the Trinamool Congress for seeking ‘cut money’ – the illegal commission for getting government grants – from every scheme, PM Modi said, “TMC only cares about extortion and cut money. Will you punish this TMC? They have only one agenda. They want cut money on everything. From the ration distribution system, Awas Yojana to the mid-day meal scheme, TMC says it wants cut money.”

He further said that TMC and ‘INDI Jamaat’ alliance are taking West Bengal to a different direction drifting away from ‘Viksit Bharat’.

PM Modi mentioned that this was his final election rally in West Bengal and thanked the people for coming out in huge numbers in rallies and public meetings.

“This is my final election rally in Bengal. From here I will go to Odisha. Tomorrow, which is the final day for campaigning, I will be in Punjab. I thank the people of Bengal for supporting us in the election and for turning up in huge numbers in rallies and meetings,” said Modi.
