Barrackpore election results 2024 live updates: TMC's Partha Bhowmick vs BJP's Arjun Singh

NEW DELHI: TMC's Partha Bhowmick is leading the Barrackpore constituency as per trends at 10am.
Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency witnessed a voter turnout of 75.41% during the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, which took place on April 26.
In the previous parliamentary elections held in 2019, Arjun Singh, the candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emerged victorious, securing 4,72,994 votes (42.82%).Dinesh Trivedi, the candidate from the Trinamool Congress (AITC), closely followed with 4,58,137 votes (41.47%). The close margin between the two candidates highlighted the intense political competition in the constituency. The 2019 elections saw a voter turnout of 76.8%.

The 2014 elections saw Dinesh Trivedi of the AITC winning the seat, demonstrating the party's strong presence in the region during that period.

BJP has once again nominated Arjun Singh, while the AITC has put forward Partha Bhowmick as their candidate.
In recent years, Barrackpore has experienced a shift in political influence between the AITC and BJP. The high-profile contest in 2019 brought the constituency into the national spotlight, underlining its electoral significance and the fierce political battle it represents.
