Abhishek Banerjee, the 36-year-old nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the president of the youth wing of the TMC, has emerged victorious in the Diamond Harbour constituency. As the general secretary of the party, Abhishek Banerjee's triumph underscores his political acumen and the unwavering support of the electorate.

In a remarkable development, former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan, contesting on a TMC ticket from Baharampur, has vanquished the five-time INC MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury by an impressive margin exceeding 70,000 votes. Pathan's resounding victory, with 476,913 votes against Chowdhury's 403,651, highlights the shifting political allegiances in the region.
