The newly-installed EV charging station is equipped with both AC and DC chargers, catering to different charging needs. The station is capable of charging up to three four-wheeler vehicles simultaneously. It features two AC chargers for a slower charge and one DC charger for a fast charge, ensuring that guests have flexible options based on their time and needs.

“We have integrated policies and efficient practices for environmental stewardship into every aspect of our operations. As LEED platinum-certified hotels, with ITC Sonar also achieving LEED Zero Water certification, we have already set the benchmark for sustainability. Reinforcing our commitment to sustainable practices, ITC Sonar and ITC Royal Bengal today launched a cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) charging station on their premises, a landmark initiative to celebrate World Environment Day 2024. This step represents a significant move towards promoting green practices and supporting the growing community of electric vehicle users,” a spokesperson of ITC Hotels said.

The hotel guests can enjoy the luxurious amenities of ITC Sonar and ITC Royal Bengal while their vehicles recharge, eliminating the need for separate stops at public charging stations. “While most EV owners primarily charge their vehicles at home, public charging stations play a crucial role in extending driving ranges and maintaining battery life during travel. This facility allows for seamless travel plans and reduces concerns about finding charging points on the road,” the ITC Hotels spokesperson said.
