  • Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a 48-year-old promoter in Baranagar whose body was found floating in the Hooghly near Dakshineswar on on Friday night after he had gone missing on Wednesday.

    Police, however, suspect that the victim — Bijay Dey alias Raju — died by suicide by jumping into the Hooghly from Bally Bridge.

    His two-wheeler, which was found lying abandoned on the bridge, has also been seized.

    According to local sources, Dey, a resident of Netaji Colony of ward 22 in Baranagar Municipality, was a popular promoter in Baranagar-Kamarhati area.
