Kolkata: The CID, which is now helping the local police probe the back-to-back robberies at gold shops in the state, has found “strong links” to men attached to the Lalu Sahani and Mahato gang operating from Jharkhand and the Subodh Singh-ed gang operating from Bihar.
Bengal police, though, has now asked all jewellery stores to set up the digital video recorder of CCTV cameras at a separate spot away from the main shop.“The moment these organized gangs strike, they destroy the DVR and the alarm system. The only time the DVR was at another building, the Ranaghat one, police arrested of the accused. The biggest advantage of having the DVR elsewhere is that the alarm can be raised without the accused coming to know of it,” explained an ADG. tnn
