• Pema Khandu becomes Arunachal Pradesh CM for third term

  • BJP leader Pema Khandu took oath on Thursday as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for the third consecutive term. Khandu was administered the oath taking by Governor KT Parnaik in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, among others at the DK State Convention Centre in Itanagar.BJP’s Chowna Mein also took oath as the deputy chief minister along with Pema Khandu. Apart from Khandu and Mein, the ten other cabinet ministers include Biyuram Wahge, Nyato Dukam, Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, Wangki Lowang, Pasang Dorjee Sona, Mama Natung, Dasanglu Pul, Balo Raja, Kento Jini, and Ojing Tasing. The ministerial portfolios will be allocated later in the day. Khandu was re-elected as the leader of the BJP legislative party on Wednesday, paving way for him to become the state’s chief minister for the third term. The BJP came back to power in the northeastern state by winning 46 of the 60 seats.
