Massive fire breaks out at Kolkata’s Acropolis mall

A major fire broke out at south Kolkata’s popular Acropolis Mall on Friday afternoon. Soon after, several fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the thick flames and all people inside the mall have been safely evacuated.The mishap happened at 12:15 pm and ten fire personnel were pressed into service. No cases of fatalities or injuries have been reported yet. The exact cause of the mall catching fire is still unknown, fire department officials said.This is the second such incident in the city since Kolkata when a massaive fire broke out at a restaurant in Kolkata’s Park Street area, causing a chaotic situation in the busy area. However, police and fire service men rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
