  • Kolkata: Governor C V Ananda Bose went to Maheshwari Bhavan to meet victims of alleged post-poll violence on Friday, and described the situation as “shocking”. He said he had written to CM Mamata Banerjee, asking govt to “obey the Constitution”.

“I have heard from victims. As a governor, I would like to be fair and hear what govt has to say. I have asked for a report,” he said. When asked how long he’d wait for a reply, Bose said: “Maybe 1 minute, maybe one day, maybe one week. But not more than that.”

In a warning to cops he said, “If the governor has given permission to someone to meet, they will meet.... If anybody prevents them, wait for the consequences.”

Trinamool’s Kunal Ghosh said: “The governor is partisan and trying to save BJP’s face in Bengal.” tnn
