No relief despite monsoon in south Bengal, light rainfall expected this week

Although monsoon has already made a landfall in most districts of south Bengal, rainfall does not seem to bring any respite from uncomfortably warm weather condition. Again, monsoon has not yet entered in East Midnapore, South 24 Parganas, Birbhum, and Burdwan.
According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, monsoon is expected in the remaining districts of South Bengal by next Wednesday or Thursday, with a wind speed of 30 to 50 kmph accompanied by thundershowers and lightning.
Again, a few showers are likely over Kolkata and adjoining districts on Monday.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall continues to hamper normal lives of residents of North Bengal and is expected to continue for the next few days.
