Kolkata: Ather Energy is considering options to export e-scooters to South Asia, South-East Asia, Europe and Latin America. The company currently manufactures two e-scooters — a performance vehicle with three variants and a family scooter with two variants. It entered Nepal last Nov and hopes to export to more countries in the next 15 months.
The company has also started developing an electric bike, expected to hit the market within three years.“Till now, we have been prioritising the domestic market. With the entry into Nepal, we tested the international waters. There are several options before us: South Asian markets like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka; SE Asian markets like Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam; Europe and Latin America,” said Ather Energy chief business officer Ravneet Singh Phokela, who was in Kolkata for the launch of its family scooter Ritza.
