Kolkata: Two persons — a shop owner identified as Sabirul Molla and the data operator of a neighbouring shop, Saikat Mondal — have been arrested at Bhangar on Monday for allegedly lynching Azgar Molla (42) on suspicion of theft.
The Kolkata Police went through hours of footage that was collected from the CCTV of a local shop before carrying out the arrest, according to police sources.
Lalbazar stated that further arrests are likely. A few weapons used in the assault had also been seized, cops said. The body was found barely 500m from the local police station on Sunday.
