  • 12 Kolkata: Times NIE presented Udaan 2 — a seminar on careers in law, management and humanities in the city exclusively for students of classes XI and XII. The seminar helped students explore ideal career pathways, important entrance exams, their dates and preparation.

Held at Kala Kunj, Kala Mandir, it saw participation of over 400 kids from various city schools. It was hosted by Toprankers, India’s premier digital learning platform. Led by experienced educators, the seminar answered questions like why, what, who, how and where for students, giving them an insight to preparations for various UG entrance examinations and making them aware of varied career options beyond engineering and medicine.

The resource person was Karan Mehta, co-founder & CGO, Toprankers, who has been guiding students since the inception of this educational institution in 2016. “Careers are not made or decided at 18,” said Mehta. He explained students how they could make the right choice of careers by choosing the right subjects.

An interactive session with the students addressed confusions among them.

“Kolkata is a metro city with fantastic schools and colleges. With our large online presence, we could see the need of reaching out to the eastern part of India offline and make kids aware of careers in law, management, humanities and design,” he added.
