  • 12 Kolkata: The cyber police station conducted awareness programmes at Loreto Day School and Modern High School to educate students about online safety and digital citizenship in an effort to “empower the next generation and identify the devils lying in the online world”.

The workshops were spread over the past two days and had officers address the school girls on basic cyber hygiene and the new forms of online threat.“Girls get targeted more. Hence, they need to be extra careful.

“These interactive sessions were conducted by the cyber-crime department of Lalbazar in collaboration with the school management,” said a school official.

“As cops, we highlighted the importance of safeguarding personal information online, recognizing and responding to cyber threats, and responsible internet usage. We primarily talked about threats from using internet on phones and apps. The idea was to talk of things they con-stantly use,” said an officer.
