    Times of India | 5 August 2024
  • Kolkata: Hours after state education minister Bratya Basu’s reaction on Saturday over the TMCP agitation on Calcutta University campus, interim vice-chancellor Shanta Dutta on Sunday issued a statement to “remind” that the present interim VCs are to continue till the exercise of the search committee concludes and permanent VCs are appointed.

She stated in her statement that the age of retirement is 70 and the appointment was made by the chancellor.

“It’s time that the political parties stop such dialectical tactics and confine the student wings to students only, if at all campus political existence is imperative,” the statement reads.

However, Basu refused to make any further comment on this on Sunday.
