  • Dr Subarna Goswami's examination of the autopsy report challenges Kolkata police's claim of a single perpetrator. NEW DELHI: In a major revelation, the doctor with access to the autopsy report of the trainee post-graduate doctor, who was found brutally raped and murdered on the RG Kar Hospital premises, has refuted the initial claims of the Kolkata police that only one person was involved in the crime.

As per the TV reports, Dr Subarna Goswami, who accessed the autopsy report, spoke about the incident and refuted Kolkata police's version.

Dr Goswami said that the extent of the injuries on the body of the deceased suggested the more than one person was involved in the crime. He said that excess amount of semen found in vagina cannot be of one person and there is a strong possibility that there could be more than one person involved in the sexual assault.

The cops had arrested Sanjay Roy, a 35-year-old civic volunteer, in less than 24 hours after the crime came to light stressing that only one person was responsible.

The semi-nude body of 31-year-old post-graduate trainee doctor was discovered inside a seminar hall at RG Kar hospital in Kolkata on Friday, August 9.

The deceased, a second-year student of the chest medicine department, was on duty on Thursday night.
