• City school presents unique annual concert

  • 12 Kolkata: DPS Megacity celebrated its educational journey of 20 years with the annual day concert on July 19 and 20 at the Science City Auditorium. The students and teachers showcased their vibrant and multifaceted talents through a resplendent pageant of music, dance and drama woven around the theme of spiritual harmony.

    The concert, ‘Beyond Eternity’, centred on creative interpretations of the Bhagavad Gita, Bible and Quran, the teachings of AC Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada and Pope Benedict XVI’s ‘Jesus of Nazareth: The Infancy Narratives’.The presentation depicted the unique symbolism of our belief in the secular values of our nation and culture.

    Over a thousand students participated in the concert. The school choir had a hundred students, singing in Latin, Sanskrit, English, Hindi and Bengali.

    The concert was hailed and blessed by Archbishop Reverend Father Thomas D’Souza, Archdiocese of Calcutta, the Vicar-General of Archdiocese of Calcutta, Father Dominic Gomes, the assistant secretary of Belur Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Swami Tattwabhidananda Maharaj and Sujit Bose, minister, fire and emergency services, govt of West Bengal. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included luminaries, intellectuals and educationists.

    The religious leaders termed this concert as ‘unique’ as it unifies and amalgamates different faiths and beliefs into one mellifluous tune of splendid harmony.
