Kolkata: The Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated the process to select agencies for implementing various works under the phase -1 programme of AMRUT 2.0 scheme, aimed at setting up the distribution network for supply of filtered water to households under BMC wards 1 to 12, covering Rajarhat-Gopalpur, from the New Town water treatment plant.
The agencies will set up 14 elevated service water and four underground reservoirs and lay pipelines. After completion of these works, the project’s next phase would focus on setting up house-to-house connections, a BMC official said. The Centre had approved Rs 333 crore for the project. Laying of pipelines in BMC wards 22 to 26 has already started.
