AT LEAST four girl students were allegedly molested at their hostel in Kolkata, police said on Monday. Three persons, including the husband of the hostel warden, have been arrested in connection with the case, officers said.

“On Sunday evening, one such incident was reported. The complaint mentions that there are over 20 girls staying at the hostel. On Sunday, when their parents visited, the girls informed them about the ordeal,” said an official.

According to sources, guardians of five inmates of the hostel have alleged that the incidents happened in August. During preliminary investigation, the police found that a private English tutor and another person linked to the hostel were also involved.

“The Child Welfare Committee was contacted and they directed that the girls be sent home with their parents, along with police escort. Further investigation is on,” said a senior police officer.
