Girl held for youth’s death in bike crash
Times of India | 17 October 2024Nishant’s neighbour, Neel Malakar, said Nishant had received a call from the girl around 2 am when he was at a friend’s house in New Alipore.A couple of hours later, when someone rang Nishant, a medic at SSKM Hospital answered the phone and informed the person that he had met with an accident. Later, Nishant’s family learned that he had passed away at the hospital.
The police said the accident had happened when Nishant, riding a scooter, lost control after a truck had bumped into it from behind. This sent him off the scooter and he hit the road, sustaining fatal injuries. The girl survived the accident with injuries. She has been remanded in police custody till Oct 25.
