Molestation cuffs on 3 more revellers
Times of India | 17 October 2024The Jamtara resident has been identified as Faqran Ansari, aged 44. On Sunday night, the complainant – a young woman from Agarpara – was molested right next to the main gate of a popular pandal in the New Alipore area.Based on her complaint, Ansari was arrested from the spot. The cops will move court to record the girl’s statement before a magistrate.
In the other incident, two were arrested on Monday night for allegedly molesting a young woman. On Tuesday, they were sent to police custody till Oct 18. When the prosecution requested a confidential statement from the young woman, the court granted the request.
Earlier, an army jawan from Bathinda had been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a minor at another ghat under South Port police station, taking the total number of such arrests to four during the puja period.
