3 arrested for rape, abuse of minors
Times of India | 18 October 2024The Bowbazar incident allegedly took place on Oct 13.Roshan Kumar Roy, a driver, lured a nine-year-old girl to his home on the pretext of giving her candy and raped her. That night, the girl’s mother filed a written complaint of rape at Bowbazar PS. Cops registered a case under the POCSO Act. Roshan initially fled from the spot, but he was arrested by Bowbazar police on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday afternoon, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly lured by her neighbour to his house on the pretext of telling her a story and assaulted her in the Entally police station area. Based on a written complaint from the girl’s father, the accused youth was arrested.
In the third incident, a Topsia woman has accused a man of raping her under the pretext of marriage. She also alleged that one of the accused’s associates too allegedly raped her while pretending to mediate in the situation. A complaint was filed at Topsia police station. A man named Saheb Gupta has been arrested, while Sanjay, his accomplice, is still on the run. Cops are searching for him.
