• West Bengal Governor to visit 250 locations in state to ‘address issues, guide young’

  • Governor of West Bengal C V Ananda Bose will be visiting 250 places across the state from Friday onwards to address “important issues that people face” and “guide the young” in the state.

    On November 23, Bose will complete two years in office. A month-long initiative, “Apna Bhaarat Jagta Bengal”, was launched by the Governor on this occasion.

    “The Governor will visit anybody who calls him, especially those in any kind of distress, destitute and infirm, orphanages and old age homes,” read a statement by the Raj Bhavan.

    “Through the initiative… Governor Bose envisions linking National Pride and the gravitas of rising Bengal. The diverse socially relevant initiatives shall fan out to different corners of the State… Special stress is to be put on anti-human trafficking, anti-drug abuse, empowerment of women, safety and security of children, participation of youth, cultural and educational initiatives… (the) focus… will be on the welfare of the weaker sections of society,” the statement further read.
