Molest cry after fight between Lake Town club members, decorators

123 Kolkata: Two men were arrested for allegedly molesting a woman and beating up her husband outside a Kali Puja pandal in Lake Town an hour after immersion. The arrested men, however, claimed they were mere workers of a local decorator who supplied lights to the pandal and that the assault took place after they tried to take their wares away. The men claimed they never molested the woman.
According to the complainant, she, along with her husband and a few other friends, was having a chat outside the pandal at Michaelnagar in Lake Town when she realised two men were passing lewd remarks at her.
"They were posing as if they were speaking over earphones but I could hear they were passing comments about my dress. When my husband confronted them, an altercation broke out. My then slapped one of them. They called more men, all of whom later thrashed my husband," said the woman.
By the time other club members arrived, two of the assailants fled and the two who allegedly passed lewd comments were still there. The club members called cops and handed over the duo to them. Cops started a case of molestation and assault and the two were later arrested.
